Training

Training sessions are split into two ages groups:

Nippers - Children aged 7 to 12 years of age

Juniors - Aged 13 to 17 years of age

Friday evening at Pyle pool, Nippers from 8:00 pm - 8:30 pm, and Juniors and Seniors from 8:30 pm - 9:00 pm.

Sunday on Coney Beach, meeting at 2:30 pm with wet suits and in the sea for 3 pm (note new time!).

During the Summer months (May until September) we also train on a Tuesday evening on Coney Beach, meeting at the club house at 6:00 pm with wet suits and in the sea for 6:30 pm.

Nippers Pool Training

It is an insurance requirement of Bridgend County Borough Council that for children to be in the pool unaccompanied by an adult they must be over 7 years of age and confidently swim 4 lengths (100 metres) of the pool.  Nippers will always be supervised by coaches but during training times coaches remain instructing from the pool side.

We aim to make nippers training fun as well as improving the child’s swimming capabilities so aside from sessions of front crawl, breast stroke and kick board training we also practice rope rescue skills and board training.

Please note - We are not a swimming club, we expect nippers who attend the pool to also attend beach training sessions too.
