Welsh Nipper Championships July 2017

The 2017 Welsh Nipper Championships were held on 22-23 July at Newport, Pembrokeshire. Despite having a small team of 9 Nippers who made the trip to West Wales, there were some excellent performances in all of the events that they entered. Overall the Nippers won a total of 5 medals - 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze, and the majority of them placed in most of their events. Highlights included a gold for Dafydd in the 1k run, a silver for Sonny in the sprint and in boards, a bronze for Sonny in the swim and a bronze for Dafydd in the sprint. Other top 10 finishes were for Elin who was 4th in the flags; Will who was 4th in the 1k run; Will, Sonny and Vienne who were 7th in the Super Nipper; Dafydd, Will and Callum who were 7th in the taplin; Reuben who was 8th in the swim; Elin and Alana who were 9th in the board rescue; Dafydd who was 10th in the swim and super nipper; and Vienne who was 10th in the swim.
